Level 2 - Perfectionnement allows you to go deeper into the fundamentals of catamaran sailing.

Approximately 100 miles of coastal sailing between St Tropez and the Calanques, with the islands of Hyères, Porquerolles, Port Cros and the Presqu'île de Giens a must. Nights are spent at anchor, depending on the weather, and a stopover in port may be considered during the course, depending on weather conditions.

Our Lagoon 380 is fast, easy to handle and safe, making it an excellent catamaran for learning. All safety and comfort equipment is on board.

Content of your level

Know the location of the equipment

Check safety equipment (life jackets, crown buoy, FAR, raft, fire extinguishers, pinochle, hand-held lights, Grab bag)

Identify hazards on the course

Assess wind strength and sea state

Identify beaconing, sounding lines, rocks, UFOs, nets, traps, ships

Knowing the Beaufort and Douglas scales

Grouping together

Reporting difficulties

Experiment with safety maneuvers in modified conditions

Participate in evacuation exercise with grab bag

Inform authorities by visual signals and use VHF procedures (Pan Pan, Mayday, Safety)

Know how to reduce sail (reefing, headsail change, capeing, recovering a floating object using the engine

Apply the 3Rs rule (Route, Trim, Stow)

Know where you are at anchor, in port and on the map

How to hoist sails (Zone, preparation, shipping)

Maintain a fixed trajectory

Adapting the sail opening to the point of sail

Shock or tuck the sail to compensate for imbalance

Follow a trajectory on a Bitter, on a heading, in relation to speed

Know when to choke or border to maintain the sail/wind angle

Trim the sails to relaunch the boat (notion of over-bordering or under-bordering)

Turning and gybing without stopping

Know how to maneuver an engine out of port (start, stop, ½ turn, 360°, forward and reverse trunk)

Know how to maneuver an engine in port (quay, dock, catway...)

Getting to know natural species

Identify fish (Sar, Sunfish, Tuna), cetaceans (dolphins, whales)

Applying the rules of the road

Apply RIPAM and be aware of other ships' routes (collisions)

Monitor equipment condition

Checking and maintaining equipment: 8 knot at the end of halyards, sheets, dents, state of spinlock, rope breakage, winch greasing, etc.

  • Navigation software: Introduction to navigation software on the iPad (INAVX and Weather 4D Pro) From course 3 offshore.
  • Welcome and early night on board the day before: restaurant (not included in the service pack) with the crew and your instructor.
  • Parking space and amenities : You can leave your car and motorcycle in an enclosed space just a few steps from your catamaran. Showers and toilets on site.
